Since 2011 

UCS watches are created by Jean-Jacques Merlet and his team. They are produced in the cradle of the Swiss watch making industry, by NORKOM production SA, in Montfaucon in the Swiss Jura.

Watches in aluminium, watches in different colours, light-weight watches, watches with emotional associations, these are a new generation of Swiss watches that add colour to your life with the changing fashions and seasons.

The parts produced by our machines are assembled by hand by expert operators. The movements used are exclusively Swiss. You thus have our guarantee of a Swiss made product.

 

The history of the UCS watches

 

29 April 2011, 1 minute past midnight

Official opening of the ucs-shop.com web site and birthday of Jean-Jacques Merlet.

It took 16 months to realise this project with a highly motivated team.

16 April 2011

UCS watch number 1 presented by Norkom production SA and Giron Jurassien des skis club to the skiing champion Didier Cuche.

 

November 2010 to February 2011

Manufacture of the components and creation of the web site. Assembly of the first series of watches.

 

November 2010

Presentation of prototypes to the Board of Directors of Norkom production SA who agreed a new budget for the production of the first 1500 watches. It also allocated a budget for the creation of the ucs-shop.ch web site.

 

September to October 2010

Assembly of prototypes, seal, resistance and functional tests.

 

June to August 2010

Manufacturer of components of the watch prototypes. Development of a new system for printing dials.

 

February to May 2010

Creation of the design of the watches and technical designs, and researching suppliers.

 

January 2010

Agreement by the Board of Directors, which approved the development budget for the creation of 3 different lines of watches and 250 prototypes.

 

January 2010

The proposal by Jacques Merlet to the Board of Directors of Norkom production SA to launch a new brand of watches with the following characteristics:

-          A watch in colour

-          A watch in metal (no plastic)

-          A fashion watch

-          Sale price circa 100 Euros
